North Sea Expedition 2009

A group of us headed over the Belgium for a week of wreck diving. The trip was coordinated by a group of Belgian divers that charted out a number of rarely touch wrecks in the North Sea. We packed our gear and headed over. The first day involved getting provisions and setting up dive gear for the trip. We got underway that night, then dove the next afternoon.

The vessel was the CDT Fourcault, a pilot vessel converted for research trips. The owner, Pim De Rhoodes, lives aboard. He takes the Fourcault around the world on research trip. This trip was right in his back yard.

During the week we did have several days where the weather was too rough to dive. We also had days where the sea was flat calm. Weather changes quickly in the North Sea, and it's not know for being calm very often. The conditions were challenging, but the crew and divers were a lot of fun. All in all a great trip.
